According to the clasification oriented by UNESCO, 14 out of them are museums of art, 68 of history, 5 are of etnography and antropology, 7 of sciences and technology, 9 are considered specialized museums , 164 generals, 9 are of history and natural sciences and 4 of archeology.

Jose Marti Museum
The natal house of José Martí, National Hero of the Republic of Cuba, became a museum in 1925 and was declared National Monument in 1949. It keeps most of the objects still preservedd of the most outstanding Cuban political and intellectual figure of the 19th century.

Museum of National Decorative Arts

Museum of the Bay of Pigs
Playa Girón municipal museum is a Memorial devoted to the battle waged by the Cuban people against mercenaries, that invaded our country on April 17-19, 1961, with the support of US sea and air forces. Here, you can see on display, material evidences that clearly proof the events that took place in Playa Girón, a place where the first great defeat to Yankee imperialism in America took place.
